LCGC Grants

Proceeds from our fundraising Tour of Gardens are used for Council operating expenses and funding projects related to Council purposes. In the past, funding has been provided for projects such as:

​

  • Scholarships for horticulture, landscape architecture, forestry, conservation, and other allied fields.

  • Landscaping in area community gardens; Cardinal Hill Therapy Butterfly Garden; Alzheimer’s Garden at Best Friends Center; Lexington Women’s Garden at Wellington Park. 

  • Historic preservation for The Wallis House and Arboretum, State Headquarters for Garden Club of Kentucky; Waveland State Historic Site.

  • Education activities at The Arboretum (State Botanical Garden), Fayette County Extension, and local schools.

The grant application window for 2026 is now open! The deadline to submit an application for consideration is Friday, May 1, 2026. Please see the criteria for the grants, the application process, and two formats of the application on the links below.  Grant recipients will be notified on Monday, June 1, 2026.
